Year Off Update

Long time no see. A lot has happened and yet nothing has happened at the same time. I graduated! Yay! And now I am working with my undergraduate research supervisor. The work is amazing and pays well, which helps because I have rent and food bills to pay. Just yesterday, one of our lovely lab members showed me a quick way to fold a t-shirt, it was awesome! See this link!

I am in the midst of preparing for grad school. Masters in psychology actually. I'm thinking I should study GLBT issues in psychology, which leads me to think relationship studies might interest me. Although technically all types of research can be made into GLBT research when you use a GLBT population. I just think relationship studies might actually keep me interested in the long run, which I'll need if I go the PhD route.

I'm looking over the GRE materials, and am currently undergoing the math review. I think some of the answers are wrong, but it could also be my math. Did anyone do the math review package on the GRE webpage yet? Some of the answers are wrong right? How does adding the square root of 300 to the square root of 12 equal 5?

So it's my year off technically. It sucks. Apparently grad school preparation should have been done a year in advance, which means when I apply this coming September, it will be for next September. So it'll be 2 years until I taste the sweet nectar of academia again.

I've been watching Glee. In particular, Blaine and Kurt, or Klaine. I love them so much! I need me some more Blaine and Kurt. Seeing those boys together makes me happy. Although they really need to move their relationship along, fast, because Kurt needs his good times and our community, during this pivotal time of high GLBT suicide rates, needs this message that It Gets Better. I totally regret not seeing Dan Savage's lecture at our university now... Oh well... who would have thought that he would begin what would be an awesome trend of uplifting and humanizing stories throughout the web.

I've also been playing Black Ops, surprisingly, I'm very into the game. Don't know why. Maybe it's classic Freudian sublimation?

That's all for now!

Cheers,
SG

  2. It's good to know that you are still reading. I feel slightly alone in the blogosphere now that Masa and Dirk are gone.

You're doing the GREs too! Did you do the math review on the GRE website yet? Some of the answer are wrong right?

You deserve a big *hug* for the comment. It really does pick me up on a less than ideal day. *hug hug*
